Objectives 1) Estimate an individual's aerobic capacity based upon oxygen consumption for bicycling task and lifting task 2) Validate Garg's metabolic model, heart rate and Borg’s subjective rating as means of estimation workload Results 220 - age Dynamic HR= 95.30+26.38 V02 (R-Sq = 99.9%) hence, V02 = - 3.61 + 0.0379 HR, at Max HR= 192, V02 = 3.6668 Static HR= 88.38+41.38 V02 (R-Sq = 98.1%) hence, V02 = - 2.13 + 0.0241 HR, at Max HR= 192, V02= 2.497

Results (cont.) Conclusions • Aerobic capacity based upon Vo2 and Garg model, HR and Borg’s rating all ↑ monotonically with workload. Correlation coefficients all > 0.95. • In dynamic task, HR is most correlated to Vo2; in static task, Garg's model is most correlated to Vo2 • In dynamic task, Borg’s rating deviates from Vo2 largely; in static task, HR deviates from Vo2 most • With same Vo2, static task shows larger HR than dynamic task.
