How to construct a crib sheet: Start with the Position Description iPhone Supply Base Engineering Co-op: Location: Cupertino, CA Duration: January to August 2008 Class Year: Junior or Senior Majors: ME, IME, PDI Citizenship: US Citizens & Permanent Residents • Help define world-class manufacturing processes and equipment manufacturers as applicable to Apple requirements. • Meet all quality, capacity, logistics and cost requirements working closely with Industrial Design, Product Design and Global Supply Managers. • Help define part tolerance and specifications by demonstrating process capability to Product Designers and Industrial Designers. • Develop and document mechanical processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications. • Work with applicable Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers. • Process familiarity with surface preparations, (blasting, tumbling and polishing), anodizing, paint and ink applications, joining (conventional and laser welding, glues, heat stake and ultrasonic welding). • Posses some understanding of part creation processes including CNC milling/turning, injection molding, stamping, MIM, die casting, extrusion and sheet forming etc. • Travel to manufacturing sites in Asia to provide onsite support during development and product production ramp. Qualifications: Must have a demonstrated hands-on mechanical ability. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Domestic and International travel required.

How to construct a crib sheet: Start with the Position Description Drill down to key requirements…put these on your crib sheet with examples of how you meet • quality, capacity, logistics and cost requirements – SAE; had to find the best parts with a tight budget. Also had to organize the shipping to correspond with when parts were needed to make sure we had enough space in the shop. • part tolerance and specifications – IEA; built a “soda” launcher, needed a spring that meet a very tight tolerance/specs.

How to construct a crib sheet: Go to the company website Look at the following: • News • What is happening in the company? • Are there any org changes? • Annual Report • Organizational structure (know the names of the top dogs) • Business strategy • Market plans • MANY other things • Careers Page • Look at what position are available for you in the future • Benefits information • Skills needed, Values, Vision/Mission, what they questions are going to be about !!! • Interview style used

How to effectively use your crib sheet • Make sure your sheet contains: • Company Values or Vision/Mission • Type of interview technique the company uses • Qualifications of the position…and your examples of how you have demonstrated those qualities • Questions to ask the interviewer • Review your crib sheet prior to the interview • During the interview make sure your crib sheet is hidden…you can pull it out when it is your turn to ask the questions
