How to deal with limited filespace and bandwidth: You can purchase a better service for a few $ per month, offering: more bandwidth more space no ads your own domain name
How to deal: Feeling Insecure? Follow Jim’s Rule: “If you are not proud of it, don’t put it on the web!”

GeoCities automatically creates a page for you named “index.htm” Click “View My Site” to see it You must replace this placeholder with your own page named “index.htm” or “index.html”
Doesn’t look like much, does it? You must replace this “placeholder” page with your own work. Close this page to return to the File Manager.
Click “Upload Files” to start getting your work onto your website.
Use the “Look In:” utility to locate your webpage files. Click on your “index.html” file and hit “Open”
This will place your “index.html” file in the lineup of files to be uploaded. Click on the second Browse button to select another file
Continue to Browse and Open files until you have selected all you wish to upload at this time. Then click “Upload Files”
Yahoo will indicate that your files have been uploaded (hopefully!) Be sure to note any upload errors. You may select to upload more files. When finished uploading files, return to File Manager
File Manager will show your newly-uploaded files. Check the list to make sure everything is there. Click “View My Site” to see your page on the Web. You may delete the “index.htm” file that GeoCities made for you.
Tidying Up: • Check your work! Make sure all your links work and your documents come up as you intended. • Check your files! Go to a different computer or browser and pull up your website. This offers “proof” that your stuff is actually on the web. • When your page is done, send your instructor the URL (web address) of your web page. We recommend that you copy the URL from the Address bar on your browser, to avoid typing errors. • Send the URL to yourself, so you can check it the same way your instructor will. If it doesn’t work, you can make corrections before the deadline.
