  7. Boundary Issues • Rules need to be explained by the employer • Give examples of what is inappropriate • Multiple “hats”-sponsor, friend, etc. • Peers need to ask for extra support when it is needed • Protections need to be in place

  8. How to Keep Recovery First • Use other peers supports as your support • Employer needs to be “in tune” with the recovery needs of the peer supports • Take care of your self, do what you need to do • Get some “you time”

  9. What can we do to support peers? • Listen to their needs • Create a safe environment • Don’t assume anything • Honest conversation - both ways • Prepare staff prior to bringing peer into the agency • Include peers in the orientation when new peers are hired
