  1. SPEECH #3"A Memorable Experience" OR"A Relationship That's Important to Me and Why" 

  2. Choose either topic.Write a speech that takes at least one full minute.You need an introduction, body, & conclusion.

  3. Objective: Demonstrate effective use of posture, movement, gesture, facial expressions, eye contact, and voice in delivering a speech.

  4. Only one experience, not two.Relationship must be with a person. Could be deceased.Today: Prewrite on notebook paper and turn in today.Write down ideas for 2 ways you could develop a speech. Do this for both topics. Examples in next slides.

  5. Experience: 1. First time I rode on an airplane. How scared I was, the view, afraid to order a drink or go to the bathroom2. Fishing for halibut in Alaska- weather, how dressed, how deep, how difficult to reel in, rainbow, beautiful view, son & husband’s reaction

  6. Relationship1. my granny- describe her, our summers together, flowers, picking blackberries, chairs to make tent2. my cousin. Call each other sisters, traveled together last summer, shared difficult childhoods, wore same wedding dress, support each other, phone calls, understand one another, ask for advice

  7. On 2nd sheet of paper, write down the topic you are choosing for your speech. Brainstorm more ideas. Not complete sentences, but key words as they pop into your brain. Could be sensory details such as what something looks like, smells like, sounds like, tastes like, or feels like when you touch it. Fill your page with ideas. Turn in both papers.
