The history of the Marmore Falls The Marmore Falls derive the Ancient Romans. In XVIII century a tour was organized, the Grand Tour, and the Falls were part of it.
The Marmore Falls are in Umbria. They were born from the union of two rivers: the Velino flowing over the waterfall, and the Nera flowing under the waterfall. It consists of three jumps which are 165m high. Description of the Marmore Falls
Vegetation and natural habitat of the Marmore Falls In the Marmore Falls there are two types of trees: the alder and the ivy; then, especially on the second jump, there is a very rare and particular musk. The vegetation is white because the limestone makes them so. In the trails of the waterfall there are the rock sponge, formed of travertino.

Norcia is situeted between Marche and Umbria. It derives from ancient romans. From the Middle Age there is the tradition of the procession in medieval custemers in honor of the saint patron (St. Benedetto 21°march). Norcia is famous for its typical food productsham and wild boar sausages. Norcia

Cartiera Papale Museum The Cartiera Papale was formeded in the Middle Age. Before producing the paper, the cartiera produced grain and its millstones functionedup to XX century. The paper was produced in XIII century.
The production of paper These instruments were used to produce the paper. To produce a paper it needed a lot of time and it was a work for women.
Ascoli Piceno (22nd March)
Ascoli Piceno History: Ascoli Piceno was from Ancient Romans and it was a Roman colony: in fact it had the cardo, the decumanus, the forum, the anphiteather ext. After the falling of Rome, Ascoli subdued the barbarian invasions and it recovered during the Renaissance. In fact, during this period, the Cathedral of Ascoli (St Emidio, saint patron) and Arringo Square were built.
The places of the power: Arringo Square and Popolo Square Arringo Square: this square is so called because in the Middle Age there was an elm and here the speackers did their speeches. This square is the religious and civil center of the city, because there are St. Emidio’s Cathedral and the town Hall. In the town Hall there are some funerary objects of medieval men and women. Popolo Square: in this square, in the Middle Age, there were the workshops of artisans. Here, there is the Caffè Meletti too, that has existed for over 100 years. There are the St. Francesco’s Church and the balcony of merchants.
St. Emidio’s Cathedral It is the most famous and important church of Ascoli and it situated to the right of the town Hall. It is a Renaissance church and in it there is the polyptych of Carlo Civelli. Also, the external facade is made of travertine, because Ascoli is the city of travertine that takes the hill of San Marco.
St. Francesco’s Church St. Francesco’s church is from Medieval Age. This church is Gotic: in fact in the church there are long windows that represent the history of the Franciscans. The main entrence is in travertine e there are some “cracks” in stone.
The Balcony of Merchants The Balcony of Merchants is from Medieval Age and it is situated near the St. Francesco’s Church. Here, the merchants traded stones and building materials. In fact in the Balcony there is a stone slab with boxes of various sizes that were the standard measure to buy a brick.
The Towers of Ascoli Ascoli, in addition to being the city of travertine, is also the city of the towers. In fact in the Middle Age many towers were built because they were the symbol of the power and of the beauty.
