Suppress our data?. Deepali and Takao. Issue now. Event size for HBD is large at HV=3500V Is not very much appreciated. Needs to set higher zero-suppression threshold to get the size reduced But, we can not set very higher threshold at the given voltage.

Suppress our data? Deepali and Takao
Issue now • Event size for HBD is large at HV=3500V • Is not very much appreciated. • Needs to set higher zero-suppression threshold to get the size reduced • But, we can not set very higher threshold at the given voltage. • According Ilia’s analysis, the average gain is ~3000. • 1.p.e. = 1.6*10^-4[fC] * 3000 / 0.1[fC/ch]= 5ch • Typical Pedestal width: 2-2.5ch (See next slides) • If we set the threshold 3 sigma above pedestal, we are already cutting 1.p.e. • Current maximum threshold: 8ch.
Data used to determine threshold • Calibration data taken by Deepali last Saturday. WN WS EN ES Maximum set ~ 8ch even 3*sigma exceeded 8ch The idea was even at gain 5000, 8ch corresponds to 1.p.e. Fiber No.

What are between RB and FB? Reverse Bias Forward Bias • Pedestal Run at RB and FB (East Only)
What are between RB and FB? Forward Bias Reverse Bias • Event Run at RB and FB, FB is zero-suppressed.. • Looks like RB have flatter tail.. (not clear, though)
What would be next? • Take FB run with zero suppression off. • Obviously, we can not set too high threshold.. • If we dump whole West, we can save some event volume.. ~20%? • Find hot channels? • Somewhat higher sigma for edge pads. • Set higher thresholds for these pedestal.
