Why Change? The Future of AIAA Is at Stake. • We are becoming less relevant to our members and potential members • We are mostly “male, pale and stale” • Young people ARE joiners, but they don’t stay with us • We are weak in the things that the largest employers (and their employees?) look for from associations • Technical activities throughout the value chain • Recognition of technical and product excellence • Educating the public and Congress about aerospace Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
