  1. (A CRCT presentation to help ease the pain) Factory Shoals Elementary Tommy Shadinger, Principal Tara Cowins, Assistant Principal Janis Gilchrist, Presenter Be Prepared, Not Scared!

  2. Why is the CRCT soooo important or is it really? • When the tests/assessments are scored, the information is used to help our school. • The information is a way of seeing, understanding, and evaluating where your child and teacher are in the educational process. • With the school and home working together, we can use this information to better student thinking and learning.

  3. Attitude is Everything. Sometimes you don’t know why particular tests/assessments are important. You just know that your child has to take them. Sometimes your attitude and perhaps the attitude of the teacher may shape how students feel about a test/assessment. (Uh, another test!)

  4. Be Prepared, Not Scared!

  5. Encourage your child to do the following things: Eat breakfast. Get enough sleep. Review vocabulary in all subjects. Practice your test taking skills. Have a positive attitude about testing by being serious, confident, and strategic. Stay on task by checking off each line. Talk about the last few minutes and how the final moments of a test period are valuable for checking work and guessing on remaining questions. From this day forward…
