  6. Where will we visit? • Pompeii • Vesuvius • Herculaneum • Solfatara and the Phlegrean Fields • Naples Archaeology Museum • Capri • Amalfi Coast • Paestum • Cumae - Greek Colony • Villa of Oplontis

What are our Italian Language objectives? • Practise listening and speaking skills in everyday scenarios • Experience reading and writing comprehension in daily life • Build on existing linguistic understanding • Develop a wider range of vocabulary • Apply linguistic knowledge and skills in new and challenging settings • Gain first-hand experience of Italian culture and society • Learn to communicate with increasing confidence

What are our Classics objectives? • Study design of urban architecture and town planning • Identify characteristics of Roman styles • Investigate management of water supply and sanitation • Develop understanding of religious, political, cultural and social contexts • Assess reasons for changes in architectural and sculptural style • Examine archaeological and conservation processes • Gain a clearer understanding of the literature and language of the period

What are our Geography objectives? • Investigate tectonic characteristics of volcanic landscapes • Identify advantages of living near an active volcano • Study coastal processes and land-use • Assess management of fragile landscapes and national parks • Identify urban and rural socio-economic inequalities • Analyse positive and negative impacts of tourism
