  1. All about Tenders and Their Benefits

  2. What is the meaning of tender? A tender refers to the process through which state government or PSUs invite bids for a large project or procurement. The successful bidder has to deliver the project as per the specifications of the tender-issuing authorities and within a specified deadline.

  3. What is a tender document? The tender-issuing authority releases tender documents which contain tender info in detail. It is a written invitation to suppliers to give them the required information about the project requirements.

  4. Types of tenders There are basically three types of tenders: * Government tenders * Private sector tenders * Overseas tenders Each type of tender has its own rules and conditions that bidders should be aware of.

  5. Issuing of Tenders Tenders can be issued through: * Expressions of interest (EOI * Request for information (RFI) * Request for quotation (RFQ) * Request for tender (RFT)

  6. Tender Process • Tender process determination is done by the tender-issuing authority. • Tender is published on online portal and offline through newspapers. • It can be open tendering, select tendering, multi-stage tendering, or invitation tendering to shortlist suitable bidders. • Bidders get access to the complete tender info. • Based on the info, they prepare the request for the tender. • Tenders are submitted to the issuing authorities. •T enders are decided and the successful bidder gets awarded with the contract.

  7. Benefits of tender * Tenders allow the most competitive contractor to win. * It is a fair process to win contracts for large projects. * An opportunity to showcase your expertise. * It is an opportunity for smaller contractors to get a piece of the pie. It is important that the contractor adheres to the terms and conditions of the tender and builds a positive reputation by ensuring that they deliver products on time and as per the quality specified in the tender.
