Proverbs • Five purposes of Proverbs (versus 2-6 of Chapter 1) • To know wisdom and instruction • To perceive words of understanding • To receive instruction (correction) of wisdom, justice, judgment and equity, so that we know what is right • To give suability to the simple, and knowledge and discretion to the young person • To deeply understand the words of the wise
