The East Riding SEN Monitoring and Evaluation Process • School completes annual audit • Monitored by the LA every two years • Half day monitoring visits - schools will be notified by letter 8 weeks in advance • Outcomes will be shared with relevant people
Preparing for LA SEN Monitoring • Audit and action plan completed and sent to designated LA officer two weeks in advance of visit • Additional evidence required two weeks in advance of the visit: Breakdown of SEN spending Trends in SEN needs over last three years Provision for SEN and funding for SEN interventions School evaluation of impact of SEN provision Data identifying pupil progress for each CoP category (A, P, S) over previous 12 months

SEN Monitoring Visit Discussion with member of SLT and SENCO:
What happens next? • The LA officer uses evidence provided by the school to generate an RVA • RVA circulated to Headteacher, Inclusion Strategy Manager, Area Relationship Manager and School Improvement Partner • School action plan will inform: Next LA SEN monitoring and evaluation visit SEF/school development plan CPD needs
