  2. Location • The Statue was made by the Greek sculptor Phidias in Olympia Greece from 430-422 B.C. • In Ancient Greece the statue was located at the Temple of Zeus in Olympia, Greece. • None of the Statue has ever been found in modern times.

  3. Purpose • The structure was Built by the Greek sculptor Phidias. • Phidias built the structure to honor the Greek god Zeus. • The structure was used a decoration for the Temple of Zeus in Olympia and worship.

  4. Uniqueness • This statue was unique because it was the largest statue of the god Zeus ever created. • The statue took 8 years to build. • The statue was built out of gold and ivory and was decorated with Ebony wood, precious stones, and other precious minerals.

  5. Ancient Foresight • There statues in use today. • The statue was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World until its destruction in 50A.D.
