Alvin District Profile About Alvin ISD… • Encompasses 250 square miles • Over 61 languages spoken • Current enrollment of 19,887 • Enrollment increasing by about 800 students each year • Currently 23 campuses • Two High Schools • Five Junior High Schools • 14 Elementary Schools • Number 15 will open August 2014 • Two alternative programs • Over 2,500 educators and staff

Alvin AISD Story • 9 administrators attended the 2013 Coaches Academny • Engaged in both long-term and short-term planning with Engage • Engage consultant came on Dec. 9 to present to principals • Provided an authentic yet abbreviated PBL experience • Are you interested in being a phase one campus? • Long and Short Term Plans • Long- Term • Commitment - PBL on all 23 campuses within 3 years • Every new campus will open as PBL campus • PBL Exposure and feeder schools • Short- Term • Both sides of school districts • Every level (elementary, junior high, high school) • Elementary (campus-wide), Secondary (strategic)

Comal Comal ISD Comal ISD, where we encourage collaboration and communication, promote critical thinking, embrace high standards of accountability, and establish a winning tradition through perseverance and grit The Comal Independent School District spans 589 square miles of central Texas, including parts of five central Texas counties: Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays and Kendal Student enrollemt for Comal ISD - 19,600 The student demographic break down 56.2% White 37.3% Hispanic 2% African American 1.2% Asian 2.6% identifies as two or more races. Comal ISD has an LEP population of 5%. 29.3% economically disadvantaged
