WEDNESDAY WEEKLY • Week of: • 09/30/13 • Please ask me: • About our upcoming states and capitals of the East Quiz (2 weeks from now) • About our shared reading of Tales of A Fourth Grade Nothing • To tell you one thing I’m proud of • MATH • Our chapter 2 math test will be next Thursday the 10th. Please continue to practice writing and saying numbers up the hundred millions place. Students will also be expected to add and subtract multi-digit numbers. Students are able to pick the method that works best for them. The traditional methods are an option. • SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS • Scholastic book orders should be arriving this week or next. I will be sending home more book orders for October if you are interested in purchasing books for your child. Ordering books earns our class bonus points which allows us to get free books. Ordering online gives us even more bonus points. • WORDS THEIR WAY • This Friday students will have their first work work assessment. The assessment will consist of the students first writing the headings of their categories in their sorts. Then the volunteer will dictate ten words which they will have to spell correctly and place within the correct category. • Sign and Return Folders • When sign and return folders come home, please remember to return the papers that were inside of them as well. I file those papers to bring out at conferences if we would like to discuss anything pertaining to test papers. Also, please remember that you are more than welcome to write directly on the test papers if you have a question or concern. Just remember to check the comments box in the folder so I know to look for your note. • TISSUES • We are in desperate need of tissues.
