  2. Early Years Wilkins was born on November 27th, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. At only 13 years old he began college at the University of Chicago. Becoming the youngest student to ever attend the school! He received his BA at age 17, and his doctorate at age 19!

  3. Contributions to Mathematics Wilkins began teaching mathematics at the Tuskagee University in Alabama. He made major contributions to the Manhattan Project during the WWII. He served as president of the American Nuclear society. He published hundreds of research papers and won numerous awards.

  4. Personal Life Wilkins married twice. His first wife was Gloria Steward and his second wife was Maxine Malone. He had two children with his first wife. He has now retired and lives with his wife in Atlanta, Georgia.
