  1. Teresa Susmaras Researched Relationships Between Personality and the Brain Research focusing on the connection between personality and antisocial behavior dominated Teresa Susmaras’ doctoral studies at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. Susmaras’ academic curiosity centered on the relationship between aggressive actions and impulsive decisions. Studies on the relationship of these behaviors and the personality may have begun with the clinical experiences of Susmaras’s volunteer work and the encounters she had with violent patients.

  2. Teresa Susmaras Worked in Brain Imaging Analysis Lab The Brain Imaging Analysis Lab at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts became familiar to Teresa Susmaras, as her doctoral research took place there during her Ph.D. studies. Susmaras attempted to pinpoint the regions of the brain which birth the impulses resulting in aggression. This type of intensive research into academic neuropsychology could yield insights into therapies alleviating the impacts of acting on impulse, and consequently the social impacts of human aggression.

  3. Teresa Susmaras a Bookworm from Early Age Teresa Susmaras was an active and athletic high school student. Track, tennis and dancing with the pom squad filled Susmaras' high school years. Still, the true beginnings of her neuropsychology studies can be seen in her love of books. Reading, in all its forms, was a pastime and a passion for Susmaras, whose eventual academic career can be traced not from dancing with the pom squad, but from the many hours she spent in reading and reflection.

  4. Teresa Susmaras Joins Neuroscience Department With her postdoctoral thesis research complete, Teresa Susmaras completed residencies in her home state of Illinois. Today, accredited as a clinical psychologist, Susmaras will work for a highly regarded health system in the neuroscience department. Susmaras’ specialty in neuropsychology will help provide her patients and colleagues neuropsychological assessment and feedback for varying conditions including traumatic brain injury and neurocognitive disorders.
