1. June 2012 CSHRM E-News Update Message from the President Greetings from CSHRM! I am excited to be your CSHRM President for the 2012-3 year. The 2012-13 Board and I look forward to continuing to provide you with cutting edge risk management education that is relevant and informative. We had over 120 attendees at our annual conference in March in Monterey, and received a lot of positive feedback about the speakers, location and concurrent sessions. If you have a topic that you feel would make a beneficial webinar, contact Gregg Timmons, Education Chair at Gregg.timmons@chartisinusurace.com Membership and Bylaws Update We currently have approximately 170 CSHRM members. The Board is working hard to continue to provide you with membership benefits. Our primary attraction has been our monthly webinars which we will continue to offer on a monthly basis to the extent possible. The webinars are FREE for CSHRM members and $35 for non members. Remember if you weren’t able to view the earlier 2012 webinars, they are archived for your viewing on our CSHRM website at www.cshrmca.org/Members. The Board is also revising the Bylaws and policies and procedures. Once revised, the Bylaws will be sent to the membership for approval. 2013 Annual Conference Planning Planning for the 2013 Annual Conference is well underway. Thank you for responding to the survey with ideas for location and topics. The top locations chosen were Napa/Sonoma and Monterey. We are evaluating both options and should have a final location and date soon. We will also be offering the CPHRM preparation course the day before the conference. We are evaluating ways to streamline the registration process and leveraging the use of technology. Watch for a Call for Speakers in the fall or submit your topic or suggestion now to Gregg Timmons, Education Chair at Gregg.timmons@chartisinsurance.com. CSHRM is also considering offering the ASHRM Patient Safety Course in the Fall. Stay tuned for more details. Other News Remember, Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) Week, June 18-22, 2012.
