Employee Information and Verification What to tell the employee filling out the form • Complete the top section in pen. • Bring the form and pen back to the window with original documentation from Column A or Column B and C Important! Entire form needs to be completed in the same color ink. Dates for employee and employer signatures must match.
Section 2: Employer Review and Verification • “The employer reviewer who signs section 2 of the I-9 form is not attesting to the legitimacy of the status of the person who presents the document but, rather, to the fact that he or she has reviewed the original document and that it reasonably appears to be genuine and relate to the employee who has presented the information”
