DUTIES Weekdays: 7am – 5pm Ward/Elective OR 6pm – 6am ER/Emergency OR Weekends / Holidays / Typhoons / Disasters: 7am – 12nn Ward/Emergency OR 6pm – 6am ER/Emergency OR No OPD Clinics
Ward Duties Daily chart rounds Facilitate labs and referrals Team rounds on weekends CLERKS are NOT REQUIRED to monitor patients CLERKS are NOT ALLOWED to conduct unstable patients especially to facilities outside PGH
ER Duties Chart new patients ER procedures Monitor ER patients Assist at LCB-OR CLERKS are NOT ALLOWED to conduct unstable patients
TRAUMA / SOD Chart new patients Double line with g18 or g16 with pNSS if hypotensive Extract labs Read: Trauma protocols Emergency cases (GS1,GS2,GS3) Fluid requirements Types / Classifications of Shock Tension pneumothorax ED Thoracotomy
EVALUATION End-of-rotation Exam Grading sheets (Preceptorials, Team Captain)
ATTENDANCE Index cards with name and photo Have the index cards signed at 7am by any resident and at 6pm by the SOD
PRECEPTORIALS Dr.Cathy Co Dr.Arturo Dela Pena 1st case: Breast CA (stage I-III)
OTHER CONCERNS Clerks may be decked SICU patients SICU labs are done by SICU intern / SIC
