Cell MembraneBy: Arden B, Zach C The cell membrane is a important part of the cell. The cell membrane allows a steady stream of glucose amino acids, and lipids into the cell. Animals and plants have cell membrane There are two layers to a cell membrane The two molecules that make up a cell membrane are phospholipids, and membrane proteins
More Info on Cell Membrane • The cell membrane is screen like, so substances if small enough can slip right through. • There are spaces in the Cell membrane that work as doors for big proteins that can’t slip through. • The job of the cell membrane is to allow substance or waste matter to move through the cell membrane. • Cholesterol was important to a animal cell membrane because it helps keep fatty acid chains of phospholipids from sticking together • Cholesterol is not needed in a plant cell membrane, it doesn't have cholesterol • Small particles can slip right through • Larger particles go through the proteins
