Highlight of Current Activities (1)- Background - • In Japan, the rapid spread of smart phones is causing cellular network congestion. One solution is traffic offload by WLAN. • However, problems caused by interference between WLANs due to the spread of WLAN is becoming apparent in public areas such as train stations, and dense residential areas such as apartments. • Activities to develop solutions to the problems of WLAN and to spread the solutions widely by standardization are desired.
Highlight of Current Activities (2)- WLAN Systems R&D Group - • To research and development for the advancement and improvement of the reliability of WLAN systems, to carry out standardization activities, and to make collaboration with other standards bodies and organizations. • Date of establishment:April 1st in 2013 • Participants: More than 20 companies (members of ARIB: WLAN manufacturers, System integrators, Telecom carriers, etc.)
