  1. How to help your child learn the alphabet*Give your child a word that is meaningful to them to associate with the letter. For example: Bb – ball*Point out the letter wherever you might see it: signs, books, labels, etc..*Sing the alphabet with your child and stop at the letter and let your child sing alone. How to help your child learn to write *Model the correct way to form a letter or number and allow your child to mimic by printing with a paintbrush, pencil, marker, crayon, pen, etc.. *Allowing your child to use scissors and write with different instruments builds muscles important to fine motor skills. How to help your child learn numbers *Use music and rhyming songs to help a child remember number sequence. Good songs to use include Hot Potato, Five Little Monkeys, Five Little Ducks, Five Green and Speckled Frogs, and This Old Man. *Count objects around the house and when you are at the store with your child. *Help with number identification by pointing out numbers wherever you might see them and asking them what the number is. Helping your child learn can be fun and rewarding.
