  2. Working Together • Fact or Fiction • If two people work together (assuming they are both good at what they are doing) two people work faster than one person by themselves? • FACT!! • Why do I ask that question…?

  3. Example If Theo can mow a lawn in 3 hours and Julian can mow the same lawn in 2 hours, how long would it take them if they worked together to mow the same lawn? The answer is not 2.5 hrs!!! Where did that number come from? Why is it not correct?

  4. Since we know 2.5 hrs is not the answer, how do we find the answer? If Theo can mow a lawn in 3 hours and Julian can mow the same lawn in 2 hours, how long would it take them if they worked together to mow the same lawn? EQUATION

  5. Solve the equation 6 2x 3x

  6. Example: If Scott and Kailyn work together they can rake a lawn in 2 hours. Scott, by himself, can rake the same lawn in 5 hours. How long would it take Kailyn to rake the lawn by herself?
