Impact on Student Achievement • Marzano’s meta-analytical study (1998) identified instructional strategies that have a strong positive impact on student achievement: • Representing new knowledge in graphical/non-linguistic formats. • Using manipulatives to explore and apply new knowledge. • Generating and testing hypotheses about new knowledge. • Direct presentation of new knowledge, followed by application.
