GOES-R Series Operations Concept • GOES-R Series Program Concept of Operations (CONOP) drove high-level requirements development • Maintain continuity with current GOES Series operations • Raw data receipt, processing to L1b, command and control at Wallops Command and Data Acquisition Station (WCDAS) • Mission operations, product processing and distribution at NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) • Support continuity of operations via Remote backup (RBU) site • Provide L1b data to hemispheric users and NSOF via GOES Rebroadcast (GRB) • Support unique payload services (UPS) • High-Rate Information Transmission/Emergency Managers Weather Information Network (HRIT/EMWIN) • Data Collection System (DCS) • Search and Rescue (SARSAT) • Provide low-latency products to key National Weather Service (NWS) users via direct connection to Advanced Weather Information Processing System (AWIPS) • Provide access to all GOES-R Series products via GOES-R Access Subsystem (GAS) • Operational scenarios will be defined by Core Ground Segment (GS) contractor • Operational details will be refined during Mission Operations Support Team (MOST) and Data Operations Support Team (DOST) testing GOES Users' Conference - November 3, 2009
