ELD Placement • Schools lacking sufficient numbers of LTELs to offer separate sections of each course, ADV ELD and Literacy and Language, will offer the course that best meets the needs of the students • LTEL courses must be taught by a permanent teacher with an English credential • LTEL courses will count for A-G credit, if needed, and may be considered for reclassification eligibility MEM- 6046.3 Placement of ELs
Sheltered Emphasis Code • All classes for ELs in any core content area must be identified in MiSiS with “SH” in the the Section Attributes menu, indicating both the composition of the class and the need for integrated ELD • Students must be grouped for core content according to their Master Plan program and ELD level • These requirements apply equally to small schools, pilot schools, and schools with small EL populations
