  2. International Student Association is an organization dedicated to improve the quality of life of international students at Southeastern. It has three main objectives: To assist new international students make a smooth transition into university life upon their arrival in the U.S. To provide a forum where international student issues can be discussed, and when necessary, expressed to the Southeastern administration in an organized manner. To provide a platform for international students and interested American students to interact with one another, fostering bonds of friendship and understanding. What is the ISA ?

  3. Who are the members ? • 40 Registered members • 5 – 10 people attend meetings • Any student enrolled at Southeastern is welcome to join the organization. Membership is free. • 30 – 40 people attend events • 160 members on the mailing list

  4. What have we done in the past? • Social Events • Trip to Global Wildlife • Trip to Oak Alley Plantation • Trip to Renaissance Festival • Educational Events • Presentation about different cultures to high school kids • Events for International Week with foreign language dept. • Events with other campus organizations

  5. “Meet the New Students” social Donation of food worth $80 from various restaurants Sponsorship of about $80 from office of Multicultural Affairs International Week Music Concert – minimum of $250 (estimated) Sell desserts from different countries - $100 (estimated) Fundraisers for this semester

  6. Angola Prison Rodeo • Interaction between American and Int’l students in a fun setting. • Proceeds go to Louisiana State Penitentiary Inmate Welfare Fund.
