The Task...... Using a stimulus – a poem, Halloween scene or picture from the internet your task is to create a Halloween Soundscape using Sound effects from the internet and Audacity. Points are awarded for effects, sounds and presentation etc. You will export your final Soundscape as an MP3 file and import it to a Powerpoint. You will export your final Soundscape and PowerPoint to your page on the Inverurie Academy Music Blog
Step by step guide to selecting and downloading sound effects. 1. Decide on your stimulus and copy and paste your picture etc into a blank power point. 2. Google ‘free Halloween sound effects’ and spend some time researching sounds that will fit with your stimulus. 3. Open Audacity and record each sound and export as an MP3 file into a folder called Halloween sounds. 4. Now you have to decide on which order these sounds will be played. 5. When you have decided this open a new Audacity File and Import each MP3 sound effect in turn. 6. This is the fun section where you can decide what you are going to do with each sound using the effects menu – Mrs Moggach will show you this. 7. Save your work as an Audacity Project until it is complete then save as an MP3 to insert into your power point.
Create a ghostly ghoulie, horror soundscape using Audacity. You can base it on the poem on the page, a Halloween picture/scene or a poem you have written yourself or by someone else. 20 points Upload your finished presentation and soundscape to your page on the Inverurie Academy Music Blog 4 points Find online and download your sound effects. Input them into audacity 1 point per sound effect. The more points you gather the better the reward! Create a PowerPoint with your stimulus and insert your ‘soundscape’ to make a presentation 5 points Use at least 4 effects from Audacity in your work. 1 point per effect Use fade in and out to tidy up your sound scape 2 points each Create a balanced track thinking about levels between different ‘sounds’ 7 points Export your soundscape as an MP 3 and save in a folder ‘Halloween’ 5 points
1. Find your stimulus – poem/picture etc. 2.Download Free sound effects from the internet on Audacity and save as ‘Project files’ 3.Using Audacity add effects to the sounds – Use the Effects Menu. 4. Export your finished ‘sound effects’ as MP3 files. (See me if you need LAME encoder) 5. Import your MP3 files as Audio into a new Audacity file. 6. Use the time shift tool to place your effects in the correct place. Save your final Sound Scape as an MP3 – all other versions as a Project file. 7. Open a power point document and insert your Stimulus. 8. Insert your completed MP3 sound file and play to check. 9. Save your power point and upload to your page on the Inverurie Academy Music Blog.
