  1. DENSO Denso ManufacturingMichigan Inc. Production Control Supplier Manual Control No. PKG-002 Section Packaging Title DMMI Supplier Packaging Specifications Date Issued : 3-2-99 Date Revised : 10/3/2014 Purpose: To define responsibilities in the packaging specification process and how to accurately complete the form. Importance: The packaging specification is a controlled document within DMMI Mfg. Accuracy is critical. The supplier must not estimate information for the spec. Physical checks are required to ensure accuracy of the key items such as lot size, weight and dimensions. It is the supplier’s responsibility to propose the best package for their product. Box dimensions are to be utilized efficiently, while protecting the product during shipping, storage and handling. The supplier is ultimately responsible for the quality of the product, not DMMI. If supplier feels that dunnage is necessary, it will be evaluated with DMMI PCE. Responsibility: • Supplier • Accurately input the packaging specification per instructions * in the NAIL database. • When new business is awarded, submit new packaging specs 24 weeks prior • to mass production. Supplier will be responsible for pick-up of packaging and • replacing if specs are not submitted on time. NOTE: This holds true unless business is awarded after the 24 week mark, then PCE will direct. • Submit new specs for parts that have design changes, lot size changes or any • other packaging changes. • Lot size standards for component parts: • Parts must utilize 85% of the tote without exceeding 30 pounds.
