Biotic factors & Abiotic factors • Biotic factors All the living part of an ecosystem(Plants, Animals). Ex) - Dune lilly, Lake huron tansy - beach grass, Marram grass - Ring-billed gull, Eastern box turtle - Piping plover • Abiotic factors All of the nonliving parts of an ecosystem. Ex) - Sands - Waters - Climates
Organisms • Definition: Any individual living things. Ex) –Piping plover/ Lives in Michigan in the Eastern upper peninsula and Northern lower Michigan along the coasts -Red fox -Grama grass -Pitcher's Thistle Pitcher’s Thistle
Population • Definition: A group of organisms of the same species living in the same area. All the same organisms. Ex) Group of piping plovers living in open sand beaches and rocky shores.
Community • Definition: A group of different populations that live together and interact in an environment. All the biotic factors. Ex) Piping plovers, Red foxes, Pitcher’s thistles, Milkweeds live in Michigan Perched dune.
Ecosystem • Definition: All the living and nonliving things in an area that interact with each other. Biotic + Abiotic factors together. Ex) Michigan perched dune Michigan parabolic dune
