Hrušovreservoir accumulates water for the main power plant in Gabčíkovo and also regulates water level. Gabčíkovo dam is the main part of the waterworks. It consists of two main structures: a hydropower plant and two lock chambers. Outlet channel leads water back to the old riverbed and also helps against floods.
