  1. MISSION TOGETHER A Mission Together Advent Activity Advent Activity 3 Brazil ‘Amigo Secreto’ In Brazil there is a tradition amongst families and friends to pick an ‘Amigo Secreto’ (secret friend) during Advent. • What you need: • Names of Children in your class • Hat/Bowl

  2. MISSION TOGETHER ADVENT WEEK 1 Put all of the names of the children in your class into a hat or a bowl. Invite everyone to pick a name out (obviously reminding them to put their own name back in the hat if they do draw it out!). The name on the paper becomes that person’s ‘Amigo Secreto’ and during Advent they should pray for and look out for this person. But it should remain a secret! ADVENT WEEK 2 At the beginning of the week remind the children to continue to pray for their ‘Amigo Secreto’. Also encourage them to look for kind things that they see their ‘Amigo Secreto’ do.

  3. MISSION TOGETHER ADVENT WEEK 3 Ask the children to write a letter to their ‘Amigo Secreto’. In it they should tell them about their plans for Christmas and how they celebrate with their families. It could also include a note of praise for their ‘Amigo Secreto’ if they saw them doing something nice during week two. The letter should be signed with a fake name so identities remain a secret! ADVENT WEEK 4 Children reveal who their ‘Amigo Secreto’ is. In Brazil children buy a small gift for their ‘Amigo Secreto’ but of course this is optional!
