Can't you recall that? Not the only one, you're not. Today, cars are usually so reliable that most of us often do not bother to check stuff such as oil and coolant levels. We assume that it's just as okay not to check our tyres, let's say regularly, which could be a major security risk. That is not good, but worse, yet. How are we aware of this? Because of MOT Watford tyre failures, 10% of all MOT test failures are national. We go through what you should look for with the tyres in our latest piping safety article to prevent a failure of the MOT test. Worn Tyre Treads The MOT test focuses all on road safety and safety – to make sure you and your passengers don't only have a safe vehicle, but also all road users. Many criteria – from brakes to axles to driver visibility – and more are controlled. The problem number one is... the treads are worn down of the 10 per cent MOT test caused by tyres. Super important are tyre treads. First invented by Continental Tyres engineers in 1904, these treads are rubber grooves that take water out of the "contact patch" between pneumatic and road conditions. The traction allows pneumatic handling that allows driving drivers to brake, steer and speed up – everything that keeps the car and the people inside and around it safe. If the rods are worn, the pneumatic treads are actively dangerous and thus a minimum rod depth of 1.6 mm is legal WWW.THEAUTOSPECIALISTS.CO.UK/MOT

  2. Unit 22, 186 St Albans Road Watford Hertfordshire WD24 4AS, UK www.theautospecialists.co.uk/mot themobileautospecialists@gmail.com MOT Fails to Prevent Tread Wear If your treads look superficial and the pneumatic surface is slightly shimmery or shaven, it is time to think about a new set of pneumatic materials. Put a 20p piece within the treads (in various locations across the breadth of the tyre) to make sure you are legal on UK roads. If you see any of the coin's outer rim at any time of the measurement, you don't only have to assume about such a new set, you have to take action because they're not just illegal, they're very hazardous. Two Tips to Extend Your Tyres' Lives: 1. Bear Your Pneumatic Pressure in Mind If your pneumatics are inflated to the correct level, your pneumatic tyres wear evenly – and also safer and fuel-efficient. 2. Avoid Partially Worn Pneumatics Teams of the Council Trading Standards have indicated that partially worn pipes with unsafe repairs and improper labelling have been sold. They simply do not value the risk and wear new premium brand tyres, such as Continentals, faster than them. But even if it's correctly inflated, all pneumatic systems will wear down over time depending on how – and how often – you drive. WWW.THEAUTOSPECIALISTS.CO.UK/MOT

  3. Unit 22, 186 St Albans Road Watford Hertfordshire WD24 4AS, UK www.theautospecialists.co.uk/mot themobileautospecialists@gmail.com Sides of Pneumatic Slashing and Creases In essence, the sides are the components of the pipe that resist pressure and stabilise your car. Usually, it is a cause of severe damage to the pneumatic structure if you notice a tear, nick, bulge, or bubble on the sidewall You are more likely to be in a super-fast drubbing, or tragic injury, with those around you. The harm inspected by a pneumatic expert should be done immediately. If such damage is seen by an MOT inspector, it will immediately be neglected – with no exception. Tips for Avoiding Sidewall Damage Don't Get in Touch With Kerbs A lot of damage to the sidewall begins with a rough bang or scrape over a kerb or pavement. This can lead to long-term damage to the tyres if you spit the tyres regularly when parking. Try to Prevent Potholes From Getting It isn't always possible these days. Banging and scraps can damage your tyres – and the suspension of the vehicle as well (another common reason for MOT failures). WWW.THEAUTOSPECIALISTS.CO.UK/MOT

  4. Unit 22, 186 St Albans Road Watford Hertfordshire WD24 4AS, UK www.theautospecialists.co.uk/mot themobileautospecialists@gmail.com Maintain the Right Pneumatic Pressure The sidewall is exposed to even higher pressures when your wheels do not have adequate air inside them because they have to compensate for keeping your car MOT Watford stable. This is premature wear and the strength of the pneumatic structure can be reduced WWW.THEAUTOSPECIALISTS.CO.UK/MOT
