Terminal Learning Objective At the completion of this lesson, you [the student] will: • Action: Recognize different features of an effective Traffic Safety Program • Conditions: In a classroom environment with facilitated group discussions • Standards: Recognize different features of an effective Driver Safety Program on a multiple choice test with 80% accuracy. ATSP-2

Enabling Learning Objectives • Identify risks associated with driving • List the four main principles of Composite Risk Management (CRM) • Discuss the three parts of the ACT (assess the situation, consider options, take action)approach to driving • Identify five good driving habits you can live with ATSP-3

  4. Your Risks While Driving • Impairment (fatigue, alcohol or drugs) • Not wearing seatbelts • Speeding • Following too close • Riding motorcycles ATSP-4

  5. Composite Risk Management (CRM) • Take no unnecessary risk • Make risk decisions at the appropriate level • Accept risks only when the benefit outweighs the costs • Integrate CRM into every level of planning and operations • Do not be risk averse ATSP-5
