Social Alpha UX Design Enhancement | Bokaap Design

1. Work Our Story Careers Media Contact Social Alpha Open Innovation Platform The objective of the platform is to drive innovative solutions for the boom of pyramid challenges in India. The goal is to enable a community based problem identification and validation, focus and find world-wide innovators on real & validated problem solving and eicient deployment of scarce resources to help solve the most important and critical problems. What we did The Brief Web application redesign & optimization Social Alpha’s functionality was already in place when they came to us. With functions Improving existing functionality added over a period of time, the user experience for a user to perform certain tasks Component-based UI-kit was not clear. In some places, the actions were repeating while in others, some actions seemed irrelevant. We partnered with Social Alpha  to upgrade its existing platform visually and fill in any UX gaps to make it intuitive for entrepreneurs and innovators to use the platform in its full potential. Our Approach We decided to work on the dashboard first, as it is the main area of engagement for new and existing users and this is where all the major components come. To make the space useful, we added information about what is going on and segmented them to make it scan-able. By the end, we planned to create a UI kit that contains all components of the interface.

2. UI Transformation Initially, the product was looking incomplete and outdated even though it was new. It was functioning but was not intuitive or user friendly. We worked on the hierarchy of information on the screens with fonts sizes, colours and white space to ensure the relevant information is accessed in a logical manner.

3. Built for intuitive problem/solution creation We made it easier for users to create problems/solutions by dividing it into multiple steps, the form need not be linear but capture all the necessary information before publishing. That’s what makes the process intuitive. Essential actions placed upfront for eiciency Social Alpha works with innovators, experts, and investors, they needed an interface that is time-eicient for every group. Engaging copy, clear CTA's, fewer buons with icons, more labels with text, and all the essential actions on the problem/solution cards and its detail page placed thoughtfully were the key to achieve that.

4. Responsiveness is a bare necessity! With the target users always on the go, it is crucial to ensure the essential information is still at hand.
