  2. Timetable We work on a six-day cycle. Your timetables will change in the first few weeks, so be prepared! Occasionally when there are unexpected incidents some days in the cycle may be substituted.

  4. The Office and Staffroom The office and staffroom are located upstairs. You will need to take your permissions to the office at break times. You will need to report to the office if you arrive more than 10 minutes late in the morning. Please wait at the window of the office to be attended. If you need to speak to a teacher please wait at the staffroom door to be attended.

  7. Psychology Department Where can I get help in school? All teachers are here to help. Your advisor can give more guidance and will work with you once a week. Psychologists are here to help with all issues that arise in adolescence.

  8. Problems in school There is a time in life when every student comes up against problems. If it is with a teacher, try talking to them first, or ask another teacher for advice. If it is with friends and you can’t sort it out, ask the teachers or psychologists for help. Do not try to hide from your problems – they won’t go away if you ignore them. Don’t exaggerate small problems you can deal with yourself. Do not expect your mum to solve all your problems!

  9. You are all new tous Remember that when you start Bach, you come with a clean slate. We do not know who you are or what you have done before. Think about who you want to be in Bach and make sure you project that image. The impression that you make on us during the first few weeks is very important.

  10. Permissions to Leave school You will need a pass (carnet) if you go in the car. You will need to bring a photo for the carnet. Bring a written permission with your name and class if you will leave with someone else or at another time. You must take it to the office at break time.

  11. What if I miss school? If you are going to miss school for a special event you must bring a letter from home and get all the teachers whose class you will miss to sign it. They will also tell you what work you will need to do. If you are ill, ask your parents to ring or send an email to school to say why you are not coming. If they can’t do that, bring a note when you get back. If you are ill you must bring the sick note (incapacidad) and hand it in to the office. Keep in touch with what you have to do through friends and the wiki. Remember that it is your responsibility to find out what you missed – teachers have many students to keep track of.

  12. Permissions to Leave class If you feel ill your teacher may give you a sick note to take to the nurse. You must bring it back, signed by the nurse. You may not leave class to go to lockers, toilet, office etc except under special circumstances.

  13. Extracurricular Activities These will be after 3pm. You go home on the bus at 5 if you are a bus rider. If you come in car, you must go home by car at 5 pm.

  14. Use of Cellphones May be used in class for research only with the teacher’s permission. May not be used to send messages to friends, mum etc Are your responsibility. May be confiscated if misused. Can be used freely at breaktimes.

  15. Classroom Agreements You will discuss rules and agreements in each class. There will be some specific rules depending on the subject eg lab rules.

  16. Reminders Notebook Please bring a small notebook to write down things to remember, homework etc. We will contact your parents directly if we need to speak to them about you!

  17. Wikis The wikis help you to see what you are supposed to be doing in each subject. You must join it with an email address that you use. Teachers may want to contact you by email. It must be one that you use regularly. ccbgrade7.wikispaces.com

  18. Where to eat and drink You may eat in the section but please put your rubbish in the bin. You may not eat or chew gum in class. Please bring a Thermos of water every day to drink in class. You will not be allowed to drink anything else, or be given permission to go to the drinking fountain.

  19. Uniform You should come in formal uniform every day (gala) and bring PE kit to change into. Non uniform items will be confiscated and you may not be allowed into class if you have the wrong uniform. Bring a note from home if there are any problems with the uniform. This year you can wear last year’s uniform.

  20. Lockers You are responsible for the upkeep of the locker. Please do not stick things in it. Get out the things you need in break times and not between classes. You will pay for any damage at the end of the year. If someone else damages your locker tell your advisor. Do not leave it open – people tend to ´borrow’ things that they forget to give back! If you need to cut off the padlock, get a note from your advisor and find one of the workers.

  21. Wednesdays On Wednesdays the timetable is shorter – you still have 6 classes, but they are for 45-50 minutes. Twice a month you will go home at 1:30. Once a month you will do House activities (Intercasas) Once a month you will do other activities.

  22. Reinforcement and Detentions On Thursdays after school you stay from 3 – 4. If you go home on the bus, you go at 5pm. Teachers will tell you if they need you to stay. You may be asked to stay for some minutes at break times for minor infringements or to go over something you missed, but you should not be asked to miss your whole break time as you also need to rest and eat. We really would love not to see you in detention!

  23. Punctuality Arrive to school and class on time. There are bells to let you know when classes end. There are 5 minute warning bells at break time to tell you to start going to class. After breaks you must be in class on the hour. During breaks get out materials for the next two classes so you don’t need to go to the locker between classes. If you need to use the bathroom between classes, go quickly. Do not arrive at your next class and then ask for permission to go, which wastes more time!.

  24. Exams You have formal exams in December and June. You will have important tests throughout the year.

  25. Student Council Think about whether you have the profile to be your class representative. You will need to be connected to Whatsapp as they send a lot of information this way (often quite late!

  26. Advisors Youwillnowgowithyouradvisorstosortoutlockers and getacquaintedwiththeSection.
