1st Film: The film is about a couple of salesmen who kidnap a rich businessman’s daughter for a ransom angering the daughter’s brother who has had a history of anger issues and a world weary Policeman This film will be stylized as a dark-comedy caper similar to the Guy Ritchie film Snatch and The Coen brothers’ film Fargo. I like the idea of having eccentric characters and this film is a good opportunity to do so The Characters: the two men are going to be sort of like the chuckle brothers where the both of them just get everything wrong . The daughter’s brother is going to be emotionally unstable because it sparks a fear in the two men. The Policeman is world weary because he has seen to much crime and so this acts sort of his breaking point owing an almost personal vendetta against the two
2nd film: A lonely man is mistaken for a serial killer by a couple of hitchhikers as the men meet Hank he believes he’s made a friend but because of his lack of social awareness he doesn’t realize the two men are afraid of him so he starts to follow the two men through the forest. But what neither of them realize is that the forest is home to worse things than a serial killer. The Characters: The lonely man I picture as a sort of unlucky Alf who is kind hearted but seriously unlucky hence the nickname. He is a homage to the character unlucky Alf from the fast show. The two men who are constantly competing with each other, testing their masculinity and so they test each other by seeing how long they can last in a forest but secretly the two of them are frightened and just don’t want to show it.
3rd Film: Set in a college it depicts a student who investigates a murder of one of his close friends who had a link to a mysterious group inside the college itself who have a massive influence over the college and its students. I like the idea of making a British Noir as the use of codes and conventions can be used. It will have similar themes to many noir films such as corruption, sleaziness, lust and violence. The Characters: The main character wants to be a writer and wants to be a journalist so he’s not afraid to dig deeper for answers. He will have one weakness which will be his eyesight he has to wear glasses and when he lose them he is practically blind. His friend is one who like to be popular and so he would talk to him when he was alone as a last resort, they have been friends since childhood.
