  7. Think It Circle – A closed curve with all its points the same distance from the center.

  8. Think It • Diameter – The distance from one end of a circle to the other through the center. • Radius – The distance from the outside to the center of a circle.

  10. Circumference is… • A special type of perimeter. It is the distance around the outside of a circle. • Think travel, distance, length CIRCUMFERENCECIRCUMFERENCE

  11. FIND THE RELATIONSHIP! For each figure… Find the diameter! Find the radius! Find the circumference (using string)! What is the relationship

  12. Finding the Relationship Activity • Supplies: • String • Rulers • Circular Items (They’ve changed from what is listed on the worksheet)

  13. Ruler Review • Make sure you start your measurements at the zero mark. • Make sure that your string is pulled taut.

  14. Group Procedures • Only talk about the assignment. • Only talk to your group mates. • Talk in quiet voices. • -10% if the policies are not being followed. • You will have 10 minutes to complete this activity.
