Ο Συγκριτικός βαθμός(Comparative)χρησιμοποιείται όταν θέλουμε να συγκρίνουμε δύοπράγματα,ζώα ή πρόσωπα κ.λ.π.: ‘Οταν το επίθετο μας είναι • μονοσύλλαβο ή • δισύλλαβοπου τελειώνει σε –οw,-er,-y, τότε προσθέτουμε–er + than στο τέλος του επιθέτου Π.x. • He is tallerthan me. • My car is cheaperthan your car.

3. Εάν το επίθετο τελειώνει σεσύμφωνο+φωνήεν+σύμφωνο(a,e,i,o,u) (b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,m....)διπλασιάζουμε το τελικό σύμφωνο και μετά προσθέτουμε την κατάληξη -er • big - bigger • hot - hotter • thin - thinner • fat - fatter • If and adjective ends with a –y, we change it to –i and add –er • happy - happier • funny - funnier • easy - easier • ugly - uglier
