INTRODUCTION The B vitamins are water – soluble vitamins that plays important roles in cell metabolism. List of B-Vitamins :- • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) • Vitamin B3 (niacin or niacinamide) • Vitamin B4 (adenine) • Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) • Vitamin B7 (biotin) • Vitamin B9 (folic acid) • Vitamin B12 (various cobalamins; commonly cyanocobalamin in vitamin supplements)
Health Benefits The B vitamins are necessary in order to :- • Support and increase the rate of metabolism. • Maintain healthy skin and muscle tone. • Enhance immune and nervous system function. • Promote cell growth and division. • Reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer.
B - VITAMIN SOURCES • B vitamins found in whole unprocessed food. • B vitamins are concentrated in meat and meat products such as liver, turkey and tuna. • Other good sources for B vitamins are potatoes, bananas, nutritional yeast and molasses. • Vitamin B-12 is not available in plant products. • B vitamins are also commonly gained from energy drinks.
B-complex Lysine syrup • Lysine is an essential amino acid and it cannot be synthesized in body. • It must be obtained from our diet. • It is incorporated into many proteins, which are used by the body. • They are necessary for the normal processes in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism. • Vitamin B-12 together with folic acid is essential for cell formation.
Material In pharmaceutical practice liquid dosage forms either monophasic and Biphasic. (1) Monophasic systems are by the presence of a single homogenous phase. Example:- Solution, water etc. (2) Biphasic system consists of two distinct phase. Example:- Emulsion and suspension.
Method of Preparation • Dry gum method • Wet gum method • Bottle method
Manufacturing Of Liquid Production Order → Dispensing of Raw Material →Raw Material → Rechecking of Weights → Dissolving→ Syrup Mfg. → Sampling & testing of Bulk liquid → Filling of liquid → In process checking → Sealing → Visual Inspection → Labeling → Cartons Packing → Finished goods stored
Test used after Syrup Manufacturing :- These include the color , appearance and dissolution characters . • General Appearance :- The general appearance of syrup, its visual identity and overall ‘elegance’ is essential for consumer acceptance. • Organoleptic Properties:- Color is a vital means of identification for much pharmaceutical syrup & is also usually important for consumer acceptance. Non – uniformity of coloring is usually referred to as mottling. Taste is also important for consumer acceptance .
Content Uniformity :- The content uniformity test is used to ensure that every syrup contains the amount of drug substance intended with little variation among syrup with in a batch.
RESULTS We have successfully developed B - complex lysine syrup. Lysine exists as stereo isomers and a racemic mixture of L- and D- forms is obtained by a pure chemical synthesis. Lysine another amino acid that is in the spotlight as a bit of wonder drug, because it is not only essential in itself, but it forms part of many other elements once inside the body.
