  2. Site and Building History • Location: 500 71st Street, • North Miami Beach, FL 33141 • Opened in December 1968 as a twin cinema

  3. Site and Building History • Re-developed in the 1970’s as a multiplex cinema • Purchased and refurbished by the City of Miami in 2002 • Hosts a variety of performances, lectures and meetings

  4. Local Information • Most attractions within walking distance • Less than one mile from A1A and beaches • U.S. Post Office directly across the street • Public parking on east side of the building across the street

  5. Local Statistics • Higher crime rate in the area than rest of Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida • Despite higher crime rate, crime rate overall is decreasing
