First Find your Vision Start with the end in mind • Answer this question: If you woke up tomorrow morning and everything in your life was exactly as you dreamed it would be, what would that look like? • Write it down, be specific and detailed. • Use this as the start point to create a STC with your goals
Goals • Goals are the key to keeping you on track as you perform the actions needed to reach them. • They’ll guide all your choices, because they support what YOU really want in YOUR life. • It’s important to make short term and long term goals
Structural Tension! • Includes your desired outcome, your current reality and the action steps needed to achieve your goals. • Gives you a direct visual way to compare your current reality to your desired goals. • By using where you are now as your starting point you create the “magical” tension that begs resolution – the basis of action. • As you move forward your current reality will change and so will your goals
Structural Tension! Desired outcome: This goes back to your vision – you MUST have a clear picture of where you want to go
Structural Tension! Current Reality: You need to take a hard look and be very honest about where you are to be able to get where you want to be. **This is not always a fun process but is important step in moving forward**
Structural Tension! Action Steps: All the action needed to get you to your desired outcome. These steps must be specific and measureable (have an end date)
