  1. Division as repeated subtraction Aarti has 15 candies. She wants to share them equally with 4 of her friends. She first gave 1 candy each to each of them and kept one aside for herself. Now she had 15 – 5 = 10 candies

  2. Division as repeated subtraction She gave everyone 1 more candy each and kept aside one for herself. Now she had 10 - 5 = 5 candies Once again she gives each friend 1 candy and kept aside one for herself. Now each of them have 5 – 5 = 0 candies left with her

  3. Division is also equal grouping Each one of them got 3 candies 5 groups of candies were formed. There are 3 candies in each group.
