Mongolia • Mongolia is located in heart central Asia. • 22 administration, more than 360 sum and provincial centers. • Bordered with Russia by 3543 km, China 4709.6 km.No direct sea access. • Territory • 1,5 sq km, 17th of largest country in the World by its territory • About 1580ì high above sea level, • Highest point 4374 m , Lowest point 532 m . Capital city Ulaanbaatar is 1350 mabove sea level • Shaped with terrain largest mountain range, steppe and desert combination. • Population • 2.78 mln by the census of December 2010 • Density is less than 2 person per 1 sq. km and 38% of total population engaged semi-nomadic cattle breeding • 1,07million people live in Ulaanbaatar. Capital city is considered one of the most coldest city in winter in the world.

MONGOLIAN ROAD NETWORK State road stands for the main arterial roads with intensive traffic which are connected capital city Ulaanbaatar with aimag center and interconnected aimag centers each other toward border of Mongolia. Local roads stand for the roads with low intensive traffic which are connected aimag center with sum and other provincial center Total road network is 49250км. Government Policy on Road Sector • “New Development Mid Term Program”(NDMTP) was adopted by Great Khural (Parliament) on 2010.06.24 • “New Development Mid Term Program” was included • 100 000 apartment project • 96 soum center development project • Ulaanbaatar air pollution project and • Road sector Development Project as: • Construction of 5572km state road • Construction of 990km Altanbulag(Russian Border)-Ulaanbaatar-ZaminUud(China Burder) highway • Construction of 212 km road and 7 interchanges in Ulaanbaatar (Capital City) • Rehabilitation of 350km road in Ulaanbaatar (Capital City) • Implementing Plan of “New Development Mid Term Program” was adopted by Cabinet on 2010.12.29 • State Policy on Railway Transport Sector was adopted by the Parliament on 2010.0624

Government Action Plan on Road Sector • Built Highways between Altanbulag-Ulaanbaatar-ZaminUud and which will be linked to the International highway network and build a paved road connecting Yarant-Khovd-Ulgii-Ulaanbaatar • Intensively continue the construction work of “Millenium Road” project • Connect the aimag centers with the capital city by paved road • Renovate and expand road networks of Ulaanbaatar and aimag centers construct grade separated level crossing, bridges, tunnels and parking lots • Promote the private sector investment in infrastructure development intensification and encourage building and expanding the auto road, railway energy and communication networks by private companies upon condition of deferred of payment of related costs by the state. • Improving the Public-Private Partnership /PPP/; create legal environment to facilitate PPP transaction /BOT/ • Introducing new technologies of international standards in constructing and rehabilitating roads and road structures, and supporting activities of the related entities
