  3. PreAlgebra Curriculum

  4. Grading Policy • Homework = 10% • Classwork = 25% • Math Tasks/Participation = 15% • Quizzes = 50% Remember to track assignments and grades on ASPEN!

  5. Homework • Homework assigned every other class • 2 days to complete most homework assignments • Graded for completion – all problems attempted and work shown • Homework will be accepted up to one week late for half-credit

  6. Classwork • Practice • Graded for completion • Graded Classwork • Graded for accuracy • Corrections can be made to earn up to 50% of points missed Ex: If student loses 4 points, he/she may earn up to 2 points for corrections made to all incorrect problems

  7. Worthwhile Math Tasks & Participation Worthwhile Mathematical Tasks are designed to engage students in exploratory problem solving. Students are encouraged to use previous knowledge and various mathematical practices to arrive at a possible solution. Problems are posed such that there are multiple ways to approach the problem and still arrive at the correct answer.
