How is it made? • Simple fermentation process combining black tea, sugar, yeast, and bacteria - also known as a Scoby • The combined ingredients sit in a dark and cool area for 7 to 14 days to ferment and grow
Buy it or make it • Kombucha can be made at home or purchased at various health food stores and restaurants • $4 per bottle (estimate) • Many people purchase growlers and re-fill in certain stores • For smaller cost, Kombucha can be brewed at home
Home Brewing • Many devoted Kombucha drinkers brew their own • Saves money • Process of trial and error • Eventually, each brewer establishes their perfect blend and flavor combinations
