Turn to pg. 31 in SB Let's read the assessment requirements together. You will be working on steps 1-8 today.
Let's start by making a checklist of what you need in order to be successful... write these in your composition book!!!
What person point of view should this be written in? First person point of view
It must have... an engaging opening - a good hook

What is the plot also called? Sequence of events with beginning, middle and end
It must have a problem, also known as... conflict - either internal or external
It must... convey character's feelings

Includes a statement of significance...in other words... tells why this experience was important

Your rough draft will need to include all of the following... Narrated in first person point of view Setting details Who was involved? What was your life like before the incident? What was the incident? How did the incident start? What were you doing, thinking, feeling? Who else was there? What were they saying, doing? Add details so reader can experience this event with you. How did the incident end? How has your life changed since the incident? What have you learned, discovered or realized from the incident? A good hook and title
