Welcome! • Phase II Fitness Testing • Saturday April 27th • Group A – 9:00 – 10:15 • Group B – 10:30 – 11:45 • Group C – 12:00 – 1:15
Ranks and Scores • Points will be awarded for each test based on your rank. • Gender Specific • Age Specific • Some tests do not have rankings for those under 15 Test Scores
BEEP TEST • This test covers 20m in length. Students will run 20m at the sound of a recorded beep, wait and proceed back when the next beep sounds. • As the test continues, the time between beeps gets shorter. Missing the line twice consecutively indicates your final stage.
ALTERNATING WALL BALL TOSS • The distance between the wall and the participant is roughly 6 feet. Students will throw a tennis ball from below their waist, alternating hands until the time runs out. They will try to complete as many catches as possible in 30 seconds. Two attempts will be given. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUDCGQXys5k
PUSH-UPS • Students will complete as many push-ups as they can. Males will perform a standard push-up, females a modified push-up. One attempt will be given. • The “Military Style” push-up test is completed with the hands directly below the shoulders (not wide arms) with the elbows staying tight to the ribs. • The students chest (Manubrium) must touch a plastic cylinder (3 ¼”) for each rep to count.
VERTICAL JUMP • Students will use a two-foot take off and landing for this jump. One stride will be allowed before the two footed take off. Three attempts will be given.
6LB MEDICINE BALL THROW • Students will stand sideways on a gym line. Throwing from below the waist, students will throw the 6lb medicine ball for distance. Two attempts will be given. • Throwers are allowed one foot to step over the line as they follow through. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3nV54ybCNI
40 YARD DASH • Students will run 40 yards as fast as they can. The timer will start on the “Go!” signal.
ILLINOIS AGILITY RUN • Students will run an agility course as fast as possible. Two attempts will be given. • The test begins with the runner lying on their chest. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPd09XwJ7B0
